STASIS | TIMES SQUARE

Stasis is in many ways inspired by NASA photographs of supernovas, cosmic collisions and stellar patterns across the universe. The way the gases majestically interacted with one another felt incredibly similar to imagery of organic fluids right here on Earth, especially reproductive fluids, as if parts of the universe were intertwining to create a new kind of offspring. By simulating such patterns and shapes we can come to understand the patterns of our cosmic ancestors, thus we get closer to understanding ourselves. Stasis was invited to be part of Times Square’s “Midnight Moment” program in 2013.
